    An opportunity to play your part – As the successful applicant for Category Specialist you will take responsibility for formulating and implementing a Category strategy through collaboration with stakeholders and Category leads. This entails executing procurement projects aimed at achieving the most favourable commercial outcomes for Centrica.

    The day to day –

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to devise a procurement activity wave plan, considering new business requirements, strategic objectives, emerging risks, and impending supplier contract expirations.
  • Utilize a robust understanding of market dynamics, employing tools such as Porter's Five Forces and Kraljic, as well as cost drivers specific to the goods/services/technology under consideration, to formulate the category strategy.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Take the lead in procurement tenders aligned with the category strategy.
  • Lead commercial negotiations.
  • Lead contract drafting and negotiation in partnership with Commercial Legal and specialist legal teams.
  • Drive the development of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities aligned with the Centrica SRM framework.
  • Manage the contract governance process in collaboration with business stakeholders (Group Contracts Committee).
  • Collaborate with risk SME teams to manage risks effectively.
  • Manage and optimize the supplier base within the category, including buying channels and the category playbook, to facilitate tactical sourcing.
  • Work collaboratively across the Procurement Function to enhance the stakeholder experience.
