Salary: £31,937 - £42,919 pa inclusive plus market forces allowance (if applicable)

Hours: 36 hours per week

Leave: 47 days annually plus bank holidays and up to 5 days Christmas closure

Reports to: Curriculum and Quality Team Manager

Location: Initially at the Skills + Logistic Centre

Objective of the Role: Provide classroom theory and practical training for full-time courses of 16-18 Electrical Installation students and adult students in Electrical Installation and Electric Vehicle Charging courses.

Teaching

Deliver classroom theory and practical training for electrical installation students.
Conduct assessments for students pursuing Level 1, Level 2 & L3 qualifications.
Manage administrative tasks related to teaching assessment, including keeping records and registers.
Support the development of student-centered teaching/learning strategies.
Collaborate with the Curriculum and Quality Team Manager for course development.
Set performance targets and ensure continuous improvement in teaching quality.
Coordinate with colleagues on assessment, student progress, and organizational matters.
Prepare progress reports for students' sponsors or employers.
Collaborate with the Curriculum and Quality Team Manager on review, evaluation, and planning activities.
Assist students in career advice and examination preparations.

General Responsibilities

Person Specification

Hold a qualification in electrical installation/engineering.
Possess relevant industrial experience in electrical installations and Electric Vehicle Charging.
Demonstrate proficiency in core subjects related to electrical installation.
Show commitment to continuous professional development.
Have IT skills relevant to the role or be willing to acquire them.
Hold a teaching qualification or be willing to obtain one.
Exhibit good communication and interpersonal skills.
Work effectively in a team.

Conditions of Service

Contract: Permanent

Pension: Staff can participate in the Teachers Superannuation Scheme.

Annual Leave: 47 days annually plus bank holidays, with additional days granted for efficiency.

Teaching Qualifications: Obtain necessary qualifications within a specified period.

Probation: 26 to 36 weeks depending on the start date.
