Are you a Buying Administrative Controller looking for a new challenge?

We have an exciting vacancy to become a part of our buying department as a Buying Administrative Controller.

Our Buying Administrative Controllers are responsible for a variety of day-to-day tasks that aid the team and keep the systems moving smoothly.

This position involves a range of administrative tasks.

Working with suppliers and other departments at all levels, the position will involve (but is not limited to):


  • Stock management, including ordering and maintaining stock levels, and managing the returns process.
  • Assisting in the management of our product inventory.
  • Creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets
  • The import, export and maintenance of data held on Gardners databases (training will be supplied in relevant Microsoft software and Gardners own custom software).
  • Daytoday administration tasks inline with company best practice


The buying team promotes a strong team culture, you will be working with various members of not only the team but other departments, publishers and with colleagues at all levels.

It is key you are able to work well as part of a team, but also to be able to work on projects alone.

This Buying Administrative Controller role is temporarily remote but will revert to office based at a later date. The office is based in Eastbourne. The hours for this position are from 9am - 5.30pm - Monday-Friday.

Essential Skills

  • Good organisational skills
  • Confident working knowledge of the Microsoft suite, particularly MS Excel
  • Ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • Good communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently within set timeframes
  • Able to work under instruction and use your initiative
