    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and organised individual to join the Faculty of Engineering's Education team.

    The team are responsible for the delivery of education governance, strategic projects, events and initiatives, learning technology, student support, access and opportunities.

    As the Education Support Coordinator, you will support these activities for all ten departments across the Faculty of Engineering.

    The role will focus on three main areas:

  • Supporting the education governance and management of curriculum data, working in close collaboration with departmental education, Faculty Edtech and College Registry teams.
  • Providing accomplished and effective administrative support for a number of Faculty education committees and ad hoc working groups and initiatives.
  • Working in collaboration with elected student representatives and the Student Union to support a range of ongoing feedback mechanisms for students, including the Faculty Staff-Student committees.

  • A first degree or equivalent education experience.
  • Experience of committee/working group administration and management, including preparation of papers and minute taking.
  • Experience of prioritising work and managing workloads successfully including meeting objectives/deadlines, in particular in the case of unforeseen circumstances.
  • Experience of providing a responsive, timely, customer focussed service.
  • Experience of the application of standardised institutional level procedures and/or academic regulation.
  • Good understanding of higher education and academic administration.
  • Ability to understand and apply complex procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with colleagues at all levels of the Faculty and College.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from busy colleagues including senior academic staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including accurate grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed and/or complex manipulation and analysis of data using spreadsheets.
  • Excellent IT skills (including MS Excel and Word).
  • A high level of accuracy and consistent attention to detail and the ability to independently resolve queries.
  • A methodical and accurate approach to work with an excellent attention to detail.
  • Hybrid working may be considered for this role. Staff working in roles that are suitable for hybrid working will normally be expected to work 60% of their time onsite. The opportunity for hybrid working will be discussed at interview.
