    Job Description

    Hyster-Yale Group is situated in Craigavon Co-Armagh. It is the largest manufacturer of counterbalance forklift trucks in the UK.

    The company has recently implemented a new manufacturing assembly line located in a new 60,000 sq ft building on our Craigavon site. The new assembly line uses the latest technology and methods for product flow, automation, tooling and data communication. A Manufacturing line without comparison to any other in Northern Ireland.

    We are actively seeking a Production Supervisor- Assembly (Area Coach II) to lead this new manufacturing line currently encompassing approximately 50 operators and relevant support team.

    The Production Supervisor - Assembly (Area Coach II) will be responsible for the supervisory guidance and mentorship to Area Coach I and Zone Captains. As well as direction on situations that disrupt the daily schedule or cause out of process situations; you will coordinate root cause analysis and implement continuous improvement activities to achieve the plant target metrics. The Production Supervisor (Area Coach II) will own metrics tied to the Tier 2 level, along with their support team.

    The successful Production Supervisor - Assembly (Area Coach II) will have the following key Accountabilities:


    • Ensure a safe working environment with a strong focus on safety culture


    • Review Quality performance daily, identify trends and take appropriate action


    • Provide supervisory guidance and mentoring to Area Coach I and Zone Captains


    • Provide direction on situations that disrupt the daily schedule or cause out of process situations


    • Co-ordinate root cause analysis at the Tier 2 level and implement continuous improvement activities to achieve the Value Stream metric targets


    • Develop effective work directions and execute to achieve on time delivery to customers


    • Create a culture of DFT adherence, rigorous problem solving, and customer value


    • Managing area production schedule and staffing levels using Daily Resource Planning (DRP)


    • Performance evaluations with training plans


    • Employee selection and development


    • Establish the monthly and daily production targets and communicate the requirements to the Tier 2 team


    • To give support to the line and other departments to ensure effective product flow

    Candidates must meet one of the following:

  • Educated to A Level (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years' supervisory experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • OR

  • Have a minimum 3-5 years direct supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment
  • In addition, all candidates must meet the following essential criteria:

  • Proven ability to lead a team within a busy production or manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership skills to drive continuous improvement, manage processes and implement new concepts with the ability to interact and coach a diverse group of people.
  • Evidence of having worked to lean methodologies and manufacturing processes
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and clearly at all levels within the organisation, both in one-to-one and group presentation situations.
  • High level analytical ability where problems are complex. Able to use complex problem solving processes to implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Excellent IT skills including a strong working knowledge MS Office
  • The ideal candidate will also meet the following desirable criteria:

  • Good presentation skills and able to produce and present a Powerpoint presentation
