    With more than 33,000 employees, the company generated sales of CHF 11.Sitting within the R&D function, the UK Quality team contributes to ensuring the quality of Sika products; In the UK, Sika have factories in Welwyn Garden City, Preston, Leeds, Wishaw and Redditch This is an exciting opportunity to join a team leading the way within Sika, with goals of striving towards Quality 4.The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring the raw materials used and products produced meet the exacting standards that we and our customers expect.

    Carrying out the day-to-day quality control processes within the operational and lab environments

    Ensure that raw material, in-process, and product testing is effectively, accurately, and promptly carried out using specified methods & accurately record results in SAP.

    Performing additional quality related testing and investigation and where needed to take lead on quality matters.
    Fulfil periodic testing and recording requirements.
    Undertaking Quality Lab related administration tasks

    Assist in preparation of new QC Specifications and provision of information to ensure the on-going accuracy of such documentation.

    Advise upon any laboratory equipment, the acquisition of which could improve the efficiency and/or accuracy of Quality Control testing.

    Adhering to professional standards that ensure the quality and effectiveness of the laboratory.
    Ensure that adequate materials are available in the laboratory to fulfil the Quality Control function.
    Provide cover for holidays, absence, shift cover and volume of work.
    Confident and comfortable in data driven decision making when needed, be able to work on own initiative.

    You will have the opportunity to work alongside the existing team at Preston as well as the wider Quality team across the UK.

    We are looking for a pro-active individual from a quality, R&D or related science laboratory background. Experience of working in a QC/R&D/Manufacturing/Production Environment.
    Practical experience / knowledge of handling building industry related products.
    Working knowledge of MS Office, spreadsheets, databases and emails. Problem solving and creative ability. We would encourage applications from those already working in a Quality function, or other related laboratories.
