    Position Overview

    This role will work alongside the Operations & Central Team to deliver the People strategy and needs to be able to think commercially whilst also having our teams' best interests at heart. This role involves collaborating with our various teams to ensure the effective implementation of HR policies and programmes, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment, supporting employee development, and contributing to the overall success of our team members. As a business, we adapt and strive for continuous improvement to ensure we are never complacent on our employees' experience and to be an employer of choice within hospitality and beyond. This role reports into the Financial Director and will need to be comfortable supporting across all People functions, having accountability for a headcount of around 60 people across the UK and Ireland. The role is based around our London network hubs, with travel to our Manchester and Dublin locations as required.

    Key Responsibilities:

    HR Planning:

  • Develop and implement an HR plan that is aligned with Huckletree's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align HR initiatives with the overall business strategy.
  • Performance Management:

  • Create a high performance culture where great talent can thrive
  • Manage performance appraisal processes, providing constructive feedback and coaching to employees and managers.
  • Work with department heads to identify training and development needs and support the implementation of professional development programs.
  • Talent Acquisition and Retention:

  • Execute our recruitment and onboarding processes to ensure the organisation attracts and retains top talent
  • Train and develop our leaders on hiring capabilities
  • Build a strong EVP throughout the process
  • Develop and implement employee retention strategies to enhance our team engagement and satisfaction
  • Employee Relations:

  • Support line managers on day to day performance management needs
  • Ensure that fair and consistent practices are in place and followed
  • Act as a mediator in conflict resolution and employee relations matters, promoting a positive and respectful workplace culture.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations, and address any legal or ethical issues promptly.
  • Ensure matters are managed sensitively and confidentially.
  • Employee Wellbeing:

  • Develop and implement wellness programs to support the physical and mental wellbeing of employees.
  • Monitor employee morale and address any concerns to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Keep the drumbeat of engagement alive and drive bi-annual survey output, turning feedback into action, the role is accountable for the engagement cycle and it's output
  • On and OffBoarding:

  • Conduct first day onboarding for new starters
  • Ensure that onboarding plans and check ins are completed for new starters
  • Set up laptops, emails etc with IT support
  • Support managers through the probationary period
  • Conduct Exit interviews for leavers
  • Ensure leavers admin is completed
  • HR Policies and Compliance:

  • Ensure the development, communication, and consistent application of HR policies and procedures
  • Stay informed about changes in employment laws and regulations and ensure compliance
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Utilise HR data to analyse trends, measure key performance indicators, and make data-driven recommendations to improve HR processes and initiatives.
  • Compile and share quarterly reports
  • Learning & Development

  • Build company L&D plans, including online, in person training, development plans and professional development fund
  • Manage our L&D budget
  • Drive participation
  • Conduct feedback surveys following training sessions
  • Maintain L&D records
  • Ensure all compliance training is completed Payroll
  • Compile monthly payroll across all locations, alongside finance checks
  • Comp & Benefits

  • Manage administration of all Comps and Bens
  • Communicate updates with the Management team
  • Identify and implement any new benefits as and when required
  • Ideal Experience:

  • HR Business Partner/HR Manager or similar level experience
  • CIPD Level 5 is preferred, but not required
  • Previous payroll experience
  • Previous experience working in a multi-site organisation (hospitality/retail advantageous)
  • Previous experience designing and/or delivering training
  • Proven experience of launching and embedding business initiatives
  • Proven experience in HR management, with a focus on employee relations, building culture and broad generalist experience
  • Strong knowledge of the UK employment law, contracts and regulations - you're the go-to expert for your stakeholders.

  • It would also be great if you have had experience within a scale-up and therefore understand the fast pace of an organisation like ours.

  • Salary
    £50-£55,000 dependant on experience
