Bumble is looking for an International Controller based in London to join the Company's Global Accounting team reporting directly to the Global Controller based in US.


  • The International Controller position will lead, drive, and direct the international accounting functions and reporting including monthly close of the general ledger, consolidation and reporting of financial results, coordination of statutory audits for 14 legal entities, optimisation of processes and internal controls and building, managing, and developing the international accounting team of 2
  • This position will partner across the business with key constituents such as tax and treasury, FP&A, legal, investor relations, people & culture, and other business partners. You will join an amazing team of Accounting and Finance professionals.


  • KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead, manage and develop a high performing accounting team, driving performance by setting goals and development plans and fostering an environment to achieve those goals through ongoing feedback
  • Partner with the leadership team, cross functional leaders, and other members of the finance team to provide advice on financial implications of business activities and to ensure business objectives are delivered
  • Drive efficiency, optimisation, and automation of business processes and develop and document accounting policies to standardise processes and strengthen internal controls
  • Lead and actively participate in business initiatives and projects, including operationalising the accounting for new transactions, implementation of new accounting standards, and serve as a key partner in the implementation of business and accounting systems
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated close procedures and ensure the timeliness, efficiency, and accuracy of information used to prepare internal financial reporting to management
  • Oversee the international accounting team to ensure standardisation of processes and timely and accurate month
- and year-end closings of accounting transactions in compliance with US GAAP and IFRS standards
  • Work closely with FP&A team on reporting efforts related to senior leadership presentations, budgeting, monthly forecasting, and reporting of actuals
  • Partner with external auditors and manage audit requests to drive timely completion of audits
  • Responsible for timely execution of SOX controls across the accounting team
  • Support M&A integration activities and related purchase accounting requirements
  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
  • EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR 15+ years of combined experience of Big 4 and industry, minimum 5 years in a Financial Controller role
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; Chartered/Certified Accountant designation required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IFRS, current accounting trends, and developments
  • Experience with US GAAP accounting standards and SOX compliance
  • Proven success in managing large teams and leading through change
  • Proven track record of developing highperforming accounting teams
  • Strong relationship skills with the ability to foster a sense of community with stakeholders
  • Experience driving transformation and efficiencies in controls and accounting systems
