    Description

    We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a 12 month contract role in Chesterfield.

    Activity

    Manufacturing Engineering support, focused on the preparation and review of procedures, identify, and implement the delivery of process improvements, lead and co-ordinate complex shop floor issues, that will help determine the most effective and lean method of manufacture.

    The support will include:

    Responsible for designated overall process health.

    Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment. Includes Manufacturing Engineers.

    Drive accountability through daily/weekly operating rhythms to ensure ME driven tasks are completed in line with production requirements.

    Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements.

    Provide data-driven reasoning and technical evidence for process changes.

    Analyse and report on production processes, methods, schedules, downtime, cycle times, availability of machines and waste management

    Key stakeholder during new equipment selection in line with process and industry best practice.

    Ensure that the organisation's manufacturing processes comply with relevant policies and regulations.

    Coordinating maintenance and repair services to keep production equipment operational.

    Perform risk and mitigation assessments.

    Identify/evaluate improvement opportunities.

    Proactively manages workload.

    Communicates to internal/external customers and functional leadership.

    Produce a weekly report on progress.

    NB. This role is inside IR35 and as such will require the use of an Umbrella Company.
