Outreach tutor - East London
Ackerman Pierce work closely with County Councils and Schools to provide one to one tutoring for children waiting for school placements.
The children we are looking to support have a range of additional complex needs and so we are seeking experienced SEN /HLTA's/tutors/teachers.
We are currently recruiting for KS3-KS4 Tutors to provide provision to a various students based from Poplar to Romford. Support in core subjects (Math, English) required. KS4 support focusing on functional skills - GCSEs is required. This students have various needs including SEMH needs, EBSA and school refusers - previous SEMH experience is preferred.Location - East London (Poplar - Romford)
Position - 1:1 Tutor
Start date - ASAP
End date - Ongoing
Contract type - Temporary
Typical Hours - 2-3 hours per student - 5 days per week (Monday - Friday) - most tutors work with 2-3 students daily, so up to 35 hours weekly on offer
Rate of pay - £30/£35 per hour
Term Time Only
During School Hours OnlyWe are looking for candidates who are:
Experience teaching young people with a wide range of complex and challenging needs including SEMH/ASC/MLD/SpLD
Exceptional behaviour management strategies.
Prepared to work face to face within the community.
Requirements
Background teaching in English, Maths, Science or SEN classes ranging from KS3-KS4.
QTS status (or equivalent) or unqualified with two years' experience teaching NC core subjects
Experience working with SEMH/ASD/EBD/SEMH and associated complex needs.
2 years previous experience working within a UK school.
