    About the Role

    Families Together is a relatively new team that are supporting young people and their families to prevent where possible them coming into care. We have 1 post available and the person we are looking for will use an approach which builds on strengths of the child/young person and family and who uses a trauma informed approach to supporting the team. This is a busy team dealing with families at crisis point but it also a very rewarding job when you see positive outcomes of the team. We are looking for someone who is able to support the Family Intervention Workers and Social Workers, co-working any tricky cases, who is keen to ensure that we are keeping on track with performance, who is able to stay calm during difficult periods and who has a positive can do approach. You will be doing supervision of alternatively qualified staff in the team, POD's, chairing meetings and also stepping in when the team manager is not available with support from another manager who is covering.

    We are already seeing positive results for the team and gaining some lovely feedback from families, young people and other professionals, so please come and join us to continue to support in developing and shape the service further

    About You

    To apply for this post, you must have:

  • Appropriate social work professional qualification such as MA, DipSW CQSW or equivalent
  • Proven experience of coordinating multi-agency work to support children using formal outcome focused plans
  • Extensive knowledge of a range of relevant theories, research, serious case review findings and models of social work interventions and how these can be integrated into service delivery to enhance outcomes for children.
  • Ability to undertake complex and evidenced based assessment in line with practice standards which are timely and child focused
  • The ability to prioritise and work flexibly using initiative to manage competing demands and, meet deadlines and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work within a team setting – providing advice, consultation, coaching and support which contributes to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Able to work flexibly within service requirements including outside normal office hours . evenings on occasion if required.
  • You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
