THE COMPANY:


Brewster Partnersare working in exclusive partnership with a major Sheffield based Construction business as they look to recruit a Bid Manager due to continued growth and future planning.


Working with an experienced pre-construction team, you will work alongside another Bid Manager within the business on a wide variety of different public and private sector bids.


We're looking for a successful Bid Manager who has enjoyed success across the entire cross section of bid types with a strong technical knowledge of the construction industry.


THE JOB:


Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Bid Manager will work to convert single and multi-stage work opportunities and frameworks into profitable projects through bid and design leadership.

The specifics of the role will involve but are not limited to:

  • Support the Director and the pre-construction team, including the Proposals Manager, Framework Managers and Business Development Manager (as appropriate), to identify and convert prospective projects to a pipeline of opportunities.
  • Support bid/no bid decisions according to business strategy through your understanding of current market conditions.
  • Identify support from and maintain and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including supply chain partners, design consultants, clients, and colleagues.
  • Identify tender deliverables, responsible parties, and programme internal and external resources to achieve prescribed deadlines
  • Collaborate with team members on identifying a winning strategy.
  • Coordinate inputs from bid team members and professional and construction supply chain partners.
  • Support the Director and Operations Manager in ensuring adequate resources are in place for secondstage bidding/form Pre-Contract Service Agreements and assume overall responsibility where identified as the lead
  • Ensure that systems are in place and maintained throughout the bid and preconstruction periods
  • Influence the control of key dates, resource requirements, and designer performance and ensure that they are monitored and controlled in accordance with their scope.
  • Work with the Director and other senior preconstruction team members to mentor and assist bid team members.
  • Ensure that review and signoff are achieved on all submissions to accord with identified authorisation levels.
  • Lead and contribute to startup, mid tender and review meetings;
  • Lead and contribute as appropriate in bid team events, including client briefings, interviews, presentations, design forums and other engagements
  • Input into developing project programmes and methods of construction with planners and other appropriate production personnel;
  • Provide technical input and assistance as and when required for tender quality submissions:
  • Work with the Bid Writing team managing as appropriate and contributing to responses, case studies, presentations and other client-facing material.
  • Lead and report on the measurement, monitoring and improvement of bid and preconstruction activity of supply chain partners to promote improved reselections and a cycle of continuous improvement of the customer service offered by the business

THE PERSON:


The business are looking for a successful Bid Manager with a relevant qualifications and a strong track record in the construction industry.


Someone who has the ability to discuss and make bid/no bid decisions according with business strategy and who can identify, select and procure key supply chain partners to deliver services.


You'll need strong technical knowledge of the industry and the ability of how to act as the principal point of contact for client teams.
