    *The Role *
    Speeds Healthcare, a leading provider of healthcare solutions, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to join our team. This key leadership role will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of pharmaceuticals and medical equipment/consumables for numerous NHS and Independent Healthcare Providers, working closely with the Chief Executive Officer to ensure efficient and effective supply chain management. You will be expected to:

    • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize the sourcing and procurement of pharmaceuticals, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with pharmaceutical suppliers and manufacturers to negotiate favorable terms and pricing agreements.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including departmental managers and clinicians, to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
    • Lead the procurement team in conducting market research and analysis to identify new suppliers, products, and cost-saving opportunities.
    • Oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
    • Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to evaluate supplier performance and identify areas for improvement.
    • Manage the inventory of pharmaceuticals at the new large-scale distribution centre in Chester, optimizing stock levels and minimizing wastage.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in pharmaceutical procurement to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
    • Mentor and develop the procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
    • The Ideal Candidate*
    • Master's degree in pharmacy or degree-level qualification in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. Level 3 Pharmacy Technicians with suitable experience will be considered.
    • Proven experience in pharmaceutical procurement, with a minimum of 5 years in a leading role.
    • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chain processes, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings and favorable contract terms.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate cross-functionally.
    • Analytical mind-set with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
    • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving results and continuous improvement.
    • Experience managing inventory and logistics in a pharmaceutical or healthcare setting.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve goals and objectives.

    • Experience of pharmacy or wholesale procurement
    • Knowledge of pharmaceutical sector/direct purchasing

    • Experience of medical equipment and consumables purchasing
    • Clinical skills that support rapid switches during shortages
    • Working Hours*
    40 hours per week. Working flexibly as the business or CEO requires Monday to Friday. You will be expected to have an onsite presence from time to time and be contactable during working hours when not.
