    Description

    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Mental Health Nurse to join our team in providing crucial mental health interventions to individuals within the prison establishment. As a Mental Health Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering care across the stepped care model, managing a caseload, and collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure comprehensive support for individuals with mental illness.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage a caseload of individuals within the prison, including assessment, planning, delivery of interventions, and regular review of care.
    • Work within the framework of the multi-disciplinary team and Care Program Approach (CPA) to provide holistic care and support.
    • Collaborate effectively with primary health care and prison staff to provide advice, support, and guidance regarding mental health concerns.
    • Liaise with statutory and non-statutory agencies to facilitate seamless care transitions and access to additional support services.
    • Support the team manager in achieving identified objectives related to individual care, staff development, and service improvement initiatives.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Registered Nurse with current registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Register.
    • Demonstrated experience in providing mental health interventions within a prison or secure setting.
    • Familiarity with the stepped care model and Care Program Approach (CPA) principles.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for liaising with colleagues and external agencies.
    • Commitment to ongoing professional development and service improvement initiatives.
