Receptionist - Volunteer
SYCS is a local independent charity based in the west end of Leicester. We provide emotional and practical support for patients, their friends families, and carers. Our services include Counselling, Complementary Therapies, Activities and Support Groups.
An opportunity has arisen for a caring, dedicated individual to join our small ambitious team. We are looking for a people person, someone who will provide a warm welcome to our clients.
Our service users are a mixture of cancer patients and their carers so being compassionate and caring is a must.
To join our small team, you must be willing to take on the ad hoc duties, always putting the needs of our clients first.
This role is available to start immediately.Hours of work:

Job Context
Ideally you will be a warm personable character with strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to learn. Empathy and understanding towards people with long-term health conditions is also desirable.
Main Duties (but not limited to)
Main Duties (but not limited to)
- Meet and greet service users, offering and making refreshments, ensuring clients sign in for health and safety.
- Book and manage appointments electronically, sending reminders to clients, dealing with cancellations.
- Answering calls, dealing with clients in an empathic, patient manner.
- Ensuring messages are passed on to relevant team member clearly and in a timely manner.
- Keep reception clean and tidy.
- Keep kitchen safe and tidy.
- Dealing with suppliers, ordering general office/ kitchen supplies, ensuring everything is adequately stocked.
- Taking cash/card payments
