Description
Bereavement Care Officer (Band 3)

This will involve cross site working

Applications are invited for a Bereavement Care Officer to join our team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking for a person with excellent communication skills and an ability to work with people of all levels and backgrounds.

You will be well organised, adaptable and able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, sometimes with little supervision.

This can sometimes be an emotionally challenging role, and you will need to show flexibility and empathy in order to meet the needs of our service users.

You will work as part of the bereavement care team across both trust sites and will be supported to develop your skills and experience in this area of work.

The mortuary and bereavement services are about to enter a period of significant change, so now is an excellent time to join us.

We are a motivated and forward-thinking team, and you will play a part in shaping the future of our work.

Our teams work hard to be flexible and promote a health work/home life balance and so, agile working options are automatically considered for all roles within the Trust.

Your package with us includes a lot more than just your pay and here are a few of the additional benefits that are available to you as an employee:

  • Access to the NHS Pension Scheme
  • Relocation allowance in line with the Trust policy
  • Generous Holiday Entitlement, starting at 27 days a year (for full time workers) plus bank/public holidays
  • Free staff car parking on all our hospital sites during this financial year
  • Inhouse Physiotherapy Services
  • Career development and training opportunities
  • Emotional Wellbeing Service covering a range of online support, access to mobile apps and 24/7 counselling services
  • Subsidised meals at our hospital restaurants
  • Access to exclusive discounts, cashback and vouchers via NHS Discounts and Blue Light Card

If you share our values and vision and are passionate about working with people on what matters to them, you could be a real asset to Team North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To give information, advice and support to relatives on the procedures required when someone dies.
  • To work with families, hospital chaplains, crematorium staff, funeral directors, coroner's officers, Medical Examiners and mortuary staff, to facilitate the timely production of documentation needed after a death.
