- To lead and manage the ecology team, offering guidance and mentorship as needed
- To provide technical support on ecological projects
- To prepare technical reports such as Ecological Impact Assessments and protected species licensing
- To engage with stakeholders and clients, offering technical advice and attending meetings
- To contribute to sales efforts, expand the customer base, and enhance brand awareness
- To provide training to the team and lead external CPD sessions
- A degree in ecology, environmental science, or related field
- A protected species licence, with preference for bats or dormice
- Experience with DEFRA Biodiversity Metric and site appraisals
- Project management experience in large, complex sites, including team and subcontractor management
- Knowledge of current environmental legislation and planning systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences
- Team player mindset with collaborative work approach
- Capability to successfully lead a team
- Commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable practices
- Flexible and adaptable nature to meet business requirements
- Proficiency in IT skills
- UK driving licence
- Chartered membership of CIEEM or working towards it
- Registered with Natural England Bat Class Licence
- Experience in electronic data collection or GIS mapping
