    The Medical Education Department is responsible for developing, managing and delivering a range of high quality and cost effective medical educational services within the Trust to specifications required by the General Medical Council (GMC), Kent Surrey & Sussex (KSS) Deanery, associated Medical Schools and the Trust's strategic and operational framework.

    We are looking for a competent and experienced individual to manage the administrative tasks necessary for the smooth operation of Foundation and Internal Medicine Training (IMT) within the Medical Education department. You will be responsible for the organisation and management of the Foundation and IMT programmes, placements and events within the Trust.

    Main duties of the job

    The post holder will work closely with the Head of Medical Education (HME) and Medical Education Manager (MEM) to develop and put in place administrative systems that are uniform, effective and efficient to support the work of the Department and support the Foundation Programme leads and IMT Leads to ensure training curricula and compliance is met within the Trust. The role encompasses the management of the Foundation & IMT Administrator and their work streams.

    The post holder will have responsibility for managing the cross site Foundation Programme and Internal Medicine Trainee Programme (IMT). This will require working closely with the, Tutors, Faculty Leads, Foundation Training Programme Directors (FTPDs) on both sites to ensure that quality management procedures are in place and that the Foundation School and Specialty Schools requirements' are met.

    The post holder will facilitate the delivery of the Foundation and IMT Teaching programmes, including mapping to the curriculum. An important part of the role will be to promote an active social network within the group to encourage team support and provide pastoral support to the Foundation Trainees (approx. 150) and IMT Trainees (approx. 50) offering assistance and advice when necessary.

    • Degree level or equivalent experience
    • Mental Health First Aider
    • Leadership Skills training

    Experience/ Knowledge

    • Prior experience in administrative roles
    • Advanced IT skills including proven abilities in using Microsoft Office Applications
    • Proven ability in managing processes and quality
    • Experience of working in an education & training environment
    • Experience of using AV/ IT equipment
