    ROLE: Procurement Specialist

    LOCATION: Nottinghamshire

    SALARY: £45000 to £50000

    Our client is recruiting for a Procurement Specialist to work at their offices in Nottinghamshire.

    You will use your experience in negotiating and working with sub-contractors and suppliers that have high value spend or pose high risk to the business; ideally in a construction / civil engineering / utilities / project environment.
    As the Procurement Specialist your responsibilities will include:
    • Develop strategies for the category within their portfolio alongside the Strategic Procurement Lead in line with the overall supply chain strategy which includes identification, selection and management of strategic partners by using the category management principles.
    • Be an active role player in the procurement team metrics ie value plan, quality, health and safety, sustainability
    • Develop a quarterly dashboard for supply chain metrics
    • Act as an interface / facilitator on bids with the bids team
    • Ensure compliance to company and procurement policies and procedures
    • Seek, communicate, and drive process / product innovation within the existing and potential supply base and where necessary adopting a partnering via SRM approach to realise new opportunities and achieve competitive advantage and enhanced profitability for the Company
    • Present key metrics to the business whether it be performance, issues, spend data sustainability and or other key metrics as identified by the clients or new strategies and ensure business needs are aligned
    • Share best practice whether it be process or supply chain info including synergies and cost benefits with other business units
    • Assist with Non-conformance and lessons learned meetings whether it be during or post completion of the project (s) and tie in with the project manager and agree on output and remedy for the supply chain and implement any findings across the wider business
    • Ensure the supply chain is actively contributing to submitting project SOR's and encouraging their staff to promote this culture
    • Categories allocated may include sub contracts, materials, and or plant and fleet. Flexibility is important.
    • To carry out any other duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business as directed by the Strategic Procurement Lead and satisfy customer needs
    Skills & Knowledge Requirements
    • 5yrs+ Procurement experience ideally working in a bids / category management environment
    • Team player
    • Adaptable to change
    • Good communication, interpersonal and customer relationship skills; both written and verbal
    • Ability to work to strict deadlines in a very busy environment
    • Eye for detail and able to check own work effectively
    • Results focused and driven
    • Time management & problem solving
    • Excellent IT skills experience in Microsoft, Oracle, Powerpoint etc
