    Job Description

    Hi there

If you have experience writing engaging content for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X, and want to join a sector-leading agency, we'd love to hear from you

On any given day, you'll be:

    • Creating, maintaining, and delivering social media campaigns for clients as part of our package, Yardstick Engage, which you can find out more about on our website
    • Running onboarding calls with new clients (with support initially)
    • Check-in meetings with existing clients on the progress of their current campaigns
    • Utilising internal databases to record and monitor your activity online
    • Analysing data to iterate our offering for current and future clients
    • Using your social media experience to assist other members of the team
    • Any other ad-hoc duties as required... we're a busy, fast-paced department

A fast-growing, busy, and social team

We're a marketing agency who specialises in the financial services sector. In fact, based on Google reviews, we're the highest-rated agency in that sector. We service the marketing needs of financial advisers and planners, as well as networks, investment houses and product providers.

Niche, isn't it? That's a great thing because it means we inherently know who we work with and their typical needs.

We've grown rapidly since our head honcho, Phil Bray, started the business in 2017, and to continue that growth, we need to add more talent to the team. If you're an ambitious designer, we want to hear from you.

Our office is in the very heart of Nottingham's Creative Quarter, meaning you're just a few minutes away from buses, trams, and the train station should you wish to work in the office. However, if you'd rather work from home or do a mixture of the two, that's fine with us

    Still interested?

    Excellent.

We're looking for someone with demonstrable experience in managing social media campaigns, particularly in regard to content creation. You need to be proficient at writing professional, engaging copy and sourcing "scroll-stopping" images.

You will be passionate about producing excellent results for our clients and the highest quality work. We want someone who isn't afraid of being held to (and holding others to) high standards.

As Steve Jobs said: "Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren't used to an environment where excellence is expected."

Now you know how we got our name

If you're the person we're looking for, we need you to be able to demonstrate:

    • First and foremost, you'll be an experienced copywriter with a love and passion for writing engaging content
    • Proficiency in producing compelling social media posts (text and media) that will achieve our clients' aims and be suitable for their target audience
    • Experience with social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn, but also Facebook, Instagram and X
    • A willingness to learn about financial services if you don't have prior knowledge
    • A highly organised, methodical, and proactive approach to your responsibilities
    • An ability to work independently and flexibly
    • An ability to juggle social media campaigns for a variety of clients across numerous accounts, which may include posting, reacting, commenting, sharing, and sending connection requests
    • An ability to analyse data and communicate it in an accessible way
    • Ideally, experience using Canva to produce eye-catching designs to use alongside posts
    • An acceptance and understanding of the importance of tracking your time using the work management tool, Asana
    • A positive attitude and a can-do approach to work and life.

Confidence, excellent attention to detail, good communication, and being able to work as part of a small team are also essential skills.

You need to be comfortable using Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace as you will be expected to log activity within existing worksheets that use these software packages.

Note: We don't mean to be boring, but we will only consider applications that provide a CV, a covering letter and, ideally, examples of your work. Scroll to the bottom for more information.

    A great salary and benefits

If you're the right person for us, you'll benefit from:

    • A full-time position
    • A flexible office-based/from home working arrangement (you can work from anywhere in the UK)
    • A starting salary of £25,000 - £27,000 (dependent on experience)
    • Flexible working hours
    • A generous holiday entitlement
    • A pension scheme from day one (as you would expect, we believe in retirement planning)
    • Education reimbursement
    • A health cash plan
    • Company events and social hours
    • Access to our retained therapist (we know how important it is we all look after our mental health)
    • Your birthday off

    Get in touch

If you think you might be the person we need, please send your CV with:

    • A covering letter or email telling us more about you and why you're the right person for the job
    • A portfolio of your previous work. We may also ask you to complete a small exercise to judge the suitability of your work.

    Go on, go for it

    Respectfully, no agencies please.
