Description
New role, additional support required for busy finance team. Assisting financial statements and reporting to meet management and statutory requirements.

The position holder must be a fully qualified accountant.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly accounting statements with specific responsibility for certain areas of the balance sheet such as fixed assets, payroll, intercompany & taxation
  • Reporting of monthly figures, including statistical analysis, to US parent company
  • Preparation of UK statutory accounts
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT return and monthly VAT accounting
  • Submission of statutory returns and management of Companies House filings
  • Coordination of internal and external audits, both to Group and local materiality
  • Takes an overview of endtoend financial accounting processes and drives continuous improvement in these from a process, data, system and people perspective.
  • Coaches, mentors and develops both direct reports and more junior members of the Finance team.
In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:

  • Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures
  • Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behaviour in completing job duties and assignments.

Part Qualified accountant:
ACA/CA, ACCA


Experience:
Min 3 years experience in a finance department or accountancy practice.

Education:
Graduate or high level of achievement at A level or equivalent.


Specialised Knowledge and Skills:
Willingness to study the business and group, including management, reporting & review processes


Good working knowledge of Excel, Powerpoint and an ability to analyze large data sets/large volumes of transactions. Experience of SAP or Oracle financial software would be advantageous.
