Team Manager/Fire Engineer

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced qualified Fire Engineer, who is looking for career advancement; to build, develop and lead a team of fire specialists in the built environment and contribute to the goals of the company.

You will also directly undertake fire specialist assignments predominately in the built environment, including retrospective fire strategies, fire safety elements for case reports and reviews of external wall risks, etc.

Recruit, manage and develop a team of fire engineers and risk consultants, aligning the team with core values and deliver market leading fire specialists services to satisfy clients and build reputation.

Build the team from scratch recruiting talent from within other teams and external candidates with a view to developing the team into successful well rounded fire safety professionals
Directly undertake fire engineering assignments including retrospective strategies, safety case reviews and external wall risk reviews on complex commercial and residential buildings from standard to very complex
Oversight of the team's project work ensuring quality delivery and client satisfaction

Support client facing teams with proposals, presentations and acting as a senior technical resource to present technical solutions and reviews.

Conduct technical interviews and provide specialist advice across projects and other teams.
Oversee department budget and help the team achieve delivery targets.
Developing methods for delivering consistent quality work and providing continuous improvement approaches to our work.
A degree or professional diploma in fire safety engineering or equivalent
Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers
Experience with fire engineered solutions ESSENTIAL in residential buildings
Significant experience leading and delivering fire engineering assignments in the in the built environment across commercial and residential buildings code compliant and engineered solutions
Experience in undertaking fire risk assessments on complex buildings
Excellent knowledge of the current and developing fire safety legislation framework including codes and best practice
Proven team management and professional services experience would be advantageous.
Track record of career progression and professional development and delivering projects and assignments on time to budget
