This really is an excellent opportunity to develop in the role working across a multiple workstreams within the Alliance including the delivery stages of a multi-disciplinary complex programme of work and the early design of further phases of the project.

The positions are based in York or our Cross Green offices in Leeds.


The mission of the TRU East Alliance is to transform the East of Leeds route (Leeds through to York) allowing people to travel faster, more reliably and in greater comfort between the North's great cities.

Providing passengers with more choice, more seats and better facilities on a safer, cleaner, more environmentally friendly railway.


Key accountabilities:

Some of the key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Supporting the Project Controls Manager in producing and updating the Project lifecycle which details all major meetings and periodic updates/reporting across the whole Project.
  • Support the Project Controls manager with the Alliance change process, milestone reporting, procurement reporting and resource tracking.
  • Be involved in maintaining the issues registers, produce outputs from issues meetings and produce status reports for issues.
  • KPI reporting, update KRA reporting tool and maintain this excel tool.
  • Assist in the PPC process and ensure all PPC outputs are in place for Viz board reporting each week. Assist the Project Controls Manager with volume reporting.
  • Support all functions throughout the project with Power BI outputs. Promote planning best practice throughout all levels of the business at all opportunities and take part in business improvement and professional development activities.
  • Assist in the production of engineering reports each period such as DRN status, TQ status and any adhoc reports required.

Skills & experience:

To be considered for this role, you will have the following:

  • Educated to A level standard or equivalent
  • High level numeracy and IT skills, with proven ability to expertly use Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Positive approach to problems and a provider of solutions
  • Flexible/proactive can do attitude who shows initiative to support others
  • Preferably have experience of using Microsoft Power BI and planning software packages (Primavera P6, MS Power Automate, MS Power Apps)
