I'm partnered with an independent company operating in the Rail industry who are looking for a Design Engineer to join their site in Ashby-de-la-Zouch.

You will be involved with writing specifications, producing designs, and supporting site engineers remotely. The position provides great opportunities for skills development, training, and career growth, working within the Rail sector.

To design and build engineering solutions to customer specifications, working with the team members; Engineers, Design Engineers, CAD Operators and Documentation assistants to produce designs, drawings, and documentation.

Define and develop scopes of work for design and engineering delivery activities.
Carry out monitoring of progress to confirm value for money and schedule delivery.
Support the Project Manager in processing client changes to contracts.
Producing design documentation for the follow sub-systems such as:
Public Help Points

Reviewing technical specifications (both from the internal engineering team and external Client standards) to ensure they meet the projects technical and commercial requirements.

Provide technical support to the Rail Engineering Delivery Team and Rail Customers.
Provide technical support and assistance to the Rail business development/sales team.
Review proposed specifications, designs and delivery of multi- disciplinary engineering associated with Projects. Responsible for the acceptance and "sign off" of project documents.
Interface with the Client and work to project deadlines.
Work to current Rail Standards, Health & Safety regulations.
Advantageous but not essential applicable Rail industry experience involving CCTV, CIS, LLPA or PHPs.
Ability to use IT Packages such as MS Office, Visio, CAD, etc.
Good Knowledge of system design, including general arrangements, schematic diagrams, loop diagrams etc
Able to engineer & deliver a project documentation in accordance with client specifications, drawings & documentation.
Able to produce & process project documentation (i.e., Functional Design Specifications, Test Procedures etc.)
Experience of requirements management for complete project lifecycle
Working Knowledge of Quality Assurance.
