    We are looking for a Head of Biology to join one of our growing Academys located in Enfield in Septemeber .

    We are looking for a expeptional teacher to take lead in the teaching of Biology in a extremely improtant year's of the school .

    This school is a Multi Academy Trust with expansion plans which will provide exciting professional development opportunities for the successful candidate.

    A strong academic background with the ability to teach to GCSE and A Level.

    Developing and updating the biology curriculum to align with educational standards and best practices.

    Providing guidance and support to biology teachers, ensuring that they have the resources and professional development opportunities needed to excel in their roles.


    Faculty Supervision:
    Supervising biology faculty, conducting evaluations, and providing feedback to ensure high-quality teaching.
    Supporting student learning by fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, providing academic guidance, and addressing student concerns.

    Research and Scholarship:
    Depending on the institution, conducting research in the field of biology and publishing findings in academic journals


    Community Engagement:

    Engaging with the broader community through outreach programs, partnerships with local organizations, or participation in scientific conferences and events.


    Professional Development:
    Engaging in professional development activities to stay current with advancements in the field of biology and educational practices.

    Assessing the effectiveness of the biology curriculum through data analysis, student feedback, and other assessment methods, and making adjustments as necessary.


    Policy Development:
    Contributing to the development of institutional policies related to biology education, safety protocols, and ethical standards.

    Departmental Representation:

    Serving as the primary representative of the biology department within the institution, including participating in departmental meetings, committees, and other administrative functions.

    Collaborating with other departments or institutions on interdisciplinary projects, curriculum development, or research initiatives.

    Professional Networking:

    Building and maintaining professional relationships with colleagues, researchers, and professionals in the field of biology to stay informed about current trends and opportunities for collaboration.

    Providing strategic leadership and vision for the biology department, setting goals, and implementing initiatives to advance the department's mission and objectives.

    Uk QTS is prefered

    To qualify for this post, you must hold a teaching qualification and QTS along with at least three months of experience in the last two years.
