Description

Organisation:
Talk Liverpool (Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust)

Base:
One of the three main hubs in the City of Liverpool (Fazakerley, City Centre, or South Liverpool)

We want to recruit enthusiastic, motivated and flexible qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) practitioners to join our Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service.

Applicants need to be accredited with the BABCP, or able to achieve accreditation within a year of their employment start date.

This is an exciting time to join Talk Liverpool; we are growing our service so that we are able to reach more people across the City and engage them in therapeutic support.

We are also moving to integrate a Long Term Health Conditions branch into the service, for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective.

Applications from those with an interest in Long Term Conditions, and who have experience of working with clients with a range of mental health problems within this population, are particularly welcomed and further training may be provided.

Shortlisting date is planned for week commencing 27th February 2023

Interview date is planned for week of 20th March 2023

The post holder will be part of a team providing evidence based high intensity CBT interventions, working with clients primarily experiencing depression and/or anxiety disorders.

The post holder will work with people from a wide range of different cultural backgrounds and of different ages (from 16+), using interpreters when necessary, and should be committed to equal opportunities.

We offer weekly Clinical supervision (pro rata hours) along with regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to support the expansion of skills in the service, including service led events, access to the full programme of events from Bespoke Mental Health, and HEE top up training, as well as individual access to Psychology Tools.

Mersey Care is one of the largest trusts providing physical health and mental health services in the North West, serving more than 11 million people.

We offer specialist inpatient and community services that support physical and mental health and specialist inpatient mental health, learning disability, addiction and brain injury services.

Mersey Care is one of only three trusts in the UK that offer high secure mental health facilities.

At the heart of all we do is our commitment to 'perfect care' - care that is safe, effective, positively experienced, timely, equitable and efficient.

We support our staff to do the best job they can and work alongside service users, their families, and carers to design and develop future services together.

We're currently delivering a programme of organisational and service transformation to significantly improve the quality of the services we provide and safely reduce cost as we do so.

You will work to agreed targets and manage your own caseload, delivering evidence based High Intensity CBT interventions with regular clinical supervision; there may be opportunities to use or develop supervisory skills to support other therapists as well as maintaining or achieving BABCP accreditation.

The successful applicants will be required to work flexibly to cover the service hours of 8am - 8pm Monday - Thursday, and 8am - 6pm Friday.

Applicants must be willing to travel to different locations throughout the Trust for clinical work, training and supervision purposes.

NB.

Following the COVID 19 impact on service delivery the service is continuing to work more flexibly which may include some remote/ home working.

Please also be aware that at present we are planning to transition to a new hub in the south of the city and as such we do not have a permanent base in that area for the time being.
