    Scrum Master – Pension Software – Bristol

    Location: Emersons Green (Hybrid working)

    Salary: £60,000-£70,000 + bonus + benefits

    Our flagship product is IntelliPen, a state-of-the-art, Internet browser-based pensions and benefits administration system, encompassing workflow, document management, payroll, accounting, reporting and all of the functionality a modern pensions department will demand.

    As part of our continuing growth, and as we embark on a technology transformation drive for our platform, we are seeking to recruit a Scrum Master into our software engineering function at Procentia. You will be responsible for facilitating and coaching engineers in the successful delivery of high-quality, well-tested software based on our award-winning suite of bespoke pension management and administration tools.

    The Job

    You will have a passion for agile working methodologies, engaging teams with regular ceremonies (stand-ups, refinements, meaningful retros, etc.) to increase their cohesion, ownership, and success. You will have enthusiasm for working with cross-discipline technical teams, encouraging them to regularly upskill each other, and ultimately deliver client projects on time and to specification.

    You will need to help teams identify blockers and track risks, aiding them in managing and removing obstacles in a quick and timely manner, whilst still helping the team to maintain their responsibilities and commitments. You will be expected to communicate blockers and obstacles to stakeholders in an efficient and timely manner, helping to facilitate unblocking the team(s) affected with your insights and recommendations.

    You will be responsible for:

    Coaching and facilitate 1-3 teams of software engineers in proven agile software delivery methodologies.

    Holding regular and effective agile-related ceremonies to help create successful and happy teams of software engineers.

    Capturing and communicate risks to stakeholders in an effective and timely manner.

    Regularly leading backlog refinement and maintenance activities.

    Working closely with the Product Owner/Manager to manage backlogs, prioritise tasks, and communicate changes effectively.

    Building, monitoring, and reporting on per-team agility metrics over time, e.g. cycle times, sprint sizing, backlog composition, etc.

    Inspiring and motivating teams of software engineers to determine and achieve their sprint goals.

    Promoting collaboration and resolving conflict in a team environment.

    Skilled facilitator, able to communicate priorities and risks amongst different stakeholders.

    Essential skills and experience required:

    High proficiency with agile ways of working and motivating teams in the effective use of such

    Proven delivery experience using Scrum, Kanban, or similar

    Experience with project management and agile reporting tools, such as Jira; experience with Azure DevOps a distinct advantage

    Coaching and influencing skills

    Good attention to detail

    Resilience and problem-solving

    Shaping and prioritising software development backlogs

    Building out roadmaps (including release plans)

    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

    Complex stakeholder management; able to build strong rapports with all working levels and specialisms, communicating appropriately (technical vs. non-technical)

    Proficient in Microsoft Office (or similar)
