MI Planning Accountant - Life insurance


A leading financial services company are currently looking for a MI Planning accountant to join the team on a permanent basis.

This will be a Hybrid role with 2-3 days per week required in the London office.


At our new MI & Planning Accountant you will support the MI & Planning Manager in production of consolidated plans, forecasts, monthly MI and scorecards.

You will work across the Group's key metrics including Growth, IFRS, solvency (including managementactions) and cash-flow reporting, ensuring the provision of relevant, reliable, insightful and timely information for decision making.


Key responsibilities:

  • Production of highquality monthly MI for the Board and ExCo for a number of the Group's key metrics.
  • Production of Group monthly Scorecard for ExCo.
  • Production of regular individual ExCo scorecards.
  • Production of key metrics for AOP and regular re forecasting.
  • Materials for the quarterly Business Review Meetings.
  • Input into planning and forecasting instructions and timetabling.
  • Proactive engagement with other members of the team and the department to establish, manage and improve processes for identifying, monitoring, quantifying, reporting and forecasting variances including analysis of the key drivers behind the results (includingidentifying trends and variations).
  • Suggesting and implementing control and efficiency improvements.
  • Driving a commercial awareness in our day to day MI reporting activity.
  • Supporting high quality of content and consistent presentation across all reports issued by the team.

What are we looking for?

  • Undergrad degree (or equivalent).
  • Accountancy qualification.
  • Proven practical knowledge of life assurance reporting activities and a broad understanding of life assurance and fund management businesses.
  • You can combine proven technical expertise with relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail are essential to also be supported by analytical skill and a consistent focus upon technical accuracy and clarity of reporting to inform and equip senior stakeholders with appropriate information and recommendations.
