Goodfish are looking to recruit an efficient and capable
Production & Materials Planner to join our friendly team in our busy injection moulding and extrusion facility in North Wales to support business growth.

This is a key role within injection moulding and extrusion.

Responsible for planning the workflow, ensuring materials and staffing resources are available, to deliver on time, in full to our customers.

While maintaining target levels of OTTR / OTIF.


Responsibilities:


  • Planning workflow including machine capabilities, resource availability, workforce capability, shift patterns to meet customer demand and cost of product.
  • Ensuring that the planning board in our planning system is available and up to date for each shift
  • Checking that the plan is being followed throughout the shifts (using our IT systems, liaising with Production Supervisors and observations by visiting the shop floor yourself)
  • Ensuring the digital planning screen is visible and up to date throughout the shift
  • Ordering of all raw materials and packaging using the MRP system
  • Plan for new product trails to take place, with the use of our IT planning systems
  • Support the management of annual leave from shop floor employees
  • Develop productive working relationships with the production teams
  • Support Quality and Production Supervisors to ensure the correct quality standards are followed in accordance with Company Policy
  • Stock control using our MRP system including stock taking
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers
  • Planning transport and booking out finished goods on our MRP system, in line with customer requirements
  • Report production issues at daily tier meetings
  • Implement corrective actions following an investigation
  • Provide continuous improvement in the reduction of downtime and scrap levels
  • Own the process cycle and work with setters to trouble shoot problems, adjusting the plan when necessary
  • Ensure company Health & Safety policies and procedures are adhered to.

Personal:


  • Experience in a plastic injection moulding and/or extrusion environment is preferable
  • IT literacy including the use of MRP planning systems and managing purchase orders is essential
  • Drive and determination to achieve customer satisfaction
  • Understanding of customer's needs and ability to adapt to change
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Be observant and aware of what is going on around you
  • Have a conscientious attitude with a considered and systematic approach
  • Confident to offer ideas regarding process improvements
  • A good team player who is supportive of colleagues
  • Problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset

Hours:


Typical hours for this role are 08.00 until 16.00 Mon - Fri, although there may be some flexibility depending on requirements.

There is a half hour unpaid break each day.

You are expected to have a flexible attitude to working outside of normal hours, which may include occasional weekends, when required.
