Context:

Strategic planning is a new role to support the museum in developing long term strategic plans, measuring the achievement against plans.

This has come about as a result of the introduction of key changes:

the Tailored Review Report and the reduction in AC budget by 10.5% for 24/25 leading to the Shaping our Future programme designed to effect change.

This role includes overseeing the annual business and operating plans, ongoing KPI development and reporting, and the introduction of a new risk management process.

This role looks to centralise and improve these functions whether they were previously split between departments and directorates
Role Overview:

To provide the Director of Finance and Resources and others at senior management level, with critical strategic intelligence, planning and monitoring and support across Amgueddfa Cymru, ensuring strong stakeholder reporting and relations and clarity around direction of travel.

Data should drive strategic decisions, improve efficiency, and optimise business processes, and the results and analysis to be tailored for it's audience dependant on business need and contextual factors.


Responsibilities:


  • To support Strategy 2030, develop the next 3year business plan from years 6
  • Develop and finalise the 24/25 operating plan with support across all directorates
  • Develop risk management processes further through wholesale adoption of RiskMate and proactive reviews with risk owners, presentations at ALG and SET.
  • Support the development of the annual review, with Relationships and Funding directorate, increasing use of visual data
  • Support the annual report and accounts delivery with the Head of Finance
  • Programme manage the shaping our future activities until December 202
  • Programme manage the implementation of the Tailored Review Recommendations until March 202
  • Coordinate quarterly KPI reporting to the Amgueddfa Cymru Board and Welsh Government.
  • Commercial responsibility: every member of staff has responsibility for the commercial success of Amgueddfa Cymru and this role will be critical in communication success and measures to other stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant:


  • Professional or technical project or programme qualification (Prince2/Agile) or willingness to learn.
  • Good understanding of the structure of the museum and its interfaces.
  • Ability to deal with all stakeholders within the museum, as well as trustees and Welsh Government officials in a constructive and focused manner.
  • Ability to drive down and recognise strategic objectives to operational activities.
  • Development of risk management strategy, policy and process to ensure up to date and relevant.
  • Experience in working with data analysis tools such as Tableau, Power BI or other similar products

Salary - £30, £35,627.59
