Junior Mechanical Design Engineer


I am working with an engineering company looking to appoint and junior mechanical design engineer, this would be an excellent role for a recent graduate to get your foot in the door with a company that offers excellent training and progression opportunities.


Requirements for the role

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of materials, including selection for a wide range of mechanical assemblies
  • Experience with 3D and 2D modelling software
  • Solidworks, AutoCAD etc

Key Responsibilities:


  • Design and improve mechanical mechanisms for precision engineered products
  • Produce detailed specifications and reports from testing
  • Work as part of the technical team to review challenges and find root causes to problems, developing solutions
  • Plan and oversee product development ensuring deadlines are met & consistency with the product is developed in to the design
  • Ensure implementation of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)
  • Ensure that Knowledge transfer takes place with other departments and keep in mind issues such as cost creep, H&S, Compliance etc
