    Description

    Peaple Talent have partnered with fast growing ambitious organisation who are expanding their product test team with an enthusiastic Test Engineer to Validate a suite of Marine products.

    You will be responsible for planning and delivering Manual 'Black-Box' Validation covering a mix of Systems Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) ensuring products adhere to Certification Standards.

    You will also produce suitable Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Schedules, set-up the Test Environment, execute the tests, raise and retest defects, report on test progress, produce End of Test Reports and provide recommendations for improvements.

    This role requires high attention to detail with a methodical problem-solving mindset with proven hands-on experience testing.

    You will have experience planning, prioritising and managing your own workload, with the expertise to identify the work required and the most appropriate way to deliver it.

    They will have excellent written & verbal communication skills, being able to clearly articulate their plans, progress, issues and report their results.


    Please note that this role requires that you are on site 5 days per week
    Role responsibilitiesnAnalyse and Static Test project requirements, specifications & supporting materials.nProactively identify test conditions and acceptance criteria to Validate 'How to use' the product, maintaining focus on the User Experience.nIdentify & plan how to test the products connected to additional Marine products using VHF, NMEA0183, NMEA2000, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth etc.nIdentify and deliver pre-compliance testing for all relevant Certification Standards before the products are sent to Test Houses.nProduce and present Test Plans, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, Test Schedules and Test Reports.nSet-up test environments with required connectivity and use various tools and tracking software to Validate the results.nRecord and evaluate test results, raising bugs for failed tests and provide feedback to the Development teams.nHelp manage the bug process, retest defect fixes and evaluate the results.nActively support Root Cause Analysis and Resolution of issues.nDefine and deliver suitable Regression test suites.nReport test progress, defects raised/retested, product quality and potential improvements to the product's design/behaviour.nLiaise with 3rd party companies and Test Houses for external testing, monitoring their test scope, progress and progress reporting.nEnsure our products and procedures meet industry standards (e.g.

    ISO9001:2015).nIdentify and communicate Risks, Issues and Dependencies, following them to resolution.nProactively collaborate to improve the processes & procedures for the Product Assurance Team.


    Essential RequirementsnA positive, proactive, enthusiastic & self-motivated person with a genuine passion for delivering 'High Quality'.nActive, collaborative Team Player keen to get involved and learn.nDemonstrable experience working with structured testing.nHands‐on 'Manual' Black-Box test experience including System, Systems Integration Test, User Acceptance Test and Regression testing.nExcellent verbal and written communication & presentation skills, communicates with confidence and credibility in face-to-face situations and remotely.nAble to understand complex issues, simply them and communicate them effectively.nAble to identify the work required to deliver their allocated work.nAble to prioritise their workload and manage their own time effectively and to offer timely pragmatic solutions.nAbility to work as part of the team as well as on own initiative.nMust be willing and able to embrace new ideas, quickly learn new skills and adapt to changing situations or requirements.nDevelop personal and technical skills to meet the needs of projects and enhance the capabilities of the team.nShare knowledge and best practices and help drive team process improvements.

    nGood awareness of modern testing methodologies, practices and approaches and strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle

    SkillsnKeen eye for detail and an analytical mindset.nStrong written and verbal communication skills.nGreat troubleshooting skills.nTest Design, Planning & Estimation experience.nFamiliarity with various testing techniques (inc. SIT, UAT and Regression).nHandling & testing electronics and mechanical components.nTest Management Tool experience – loading & running tests, raising & retesting defects etc. in i.e.

    JIRA, Zephyr, SpiraTest or HP QC/ALM.nRequirements Traceability.nAndroid & iOS testing on mobiles, tablets and laptops/PC's.nProficient in the use of Windows operating system and Microsoft Office tools.nGood knowledge of the Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC).nUse of test support tools such as multimeters, data loggers, data simulators.nFamiliar with software version control (i.e.

    SVN, BitBucket etc.).nDegree in Electronics and /or Communication (desirable).nISEB/ISTQB certified or equivalent (desirable).
