    Our client is a successful Integrated Energy Trading company based in London Reporting directly to the Energy Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for accurate daily nominating and scheduling gas positions across various European hubs, grids and pipelines and liaise with Traders to update and monitor position as appropriate.

    RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for accurate daily nominating and scheduling gas positions across various European hubs, grids and pipelines including UK, Germany, Netherlands, and Belgium within deadlinesBooking/re-booking capacity to ensure portfolio capacity requirements are met.

    Some involvement in long term bookingsDaily confirmation and reconciliation of beach swap volumesUpdate and monitor positions and liaise with Trading teamResolve mismatches to ensure all nominations are matched on an hourly and daily basis avoiding imbalancesTrade support – trade capture and reconciliation in ETRMSettlements support – where required, assist with invoice reconciliationsConfirmations – assist with confirmation of trades and reconciliationEnsure compliance with contractual, regulatory and shipper licence here to internal risk policies and update systems and processes as requiredAssist in setting up new business – counterparties, hubs, products, short haul, supply to sites and changing market operationsSupport and advise Trade control and settlement teams to provide end to end operations for tradingAd-hoc requests from different business functionsPerform UAT (User Acceptance Testing) as necessary for upgrades and project work SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Undergraduate degree in Maths, Economics, or related disciplinePrevious experience working within a physical gas or energy trading environment.

    Strong understanding of daily scheduling controls/processes/procedures and end-to-end trade lifecycle.
    Good understanding of European gas transmission systems and balancing rules is preferableStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and VBAExperience setting up new markets, products, and systems would be advantageousKnowledge and understanding of Gas storage, Power or LNG would be preferredAwareness and basic understanding of programming languageKnowledge of another European language would be an advantageExperience of supplying/invoicing end users in UK and ContinentCarbon Emissions experience (EUA/UKA)Candidates must be available to be on-call evenings and weekends on rotation SKILLS Achieve high levels of accuracy with all work produced and be detail orientatedStrong analytical and numerical skillsExperience coding in Python, or another Object-Orientated Programming language is advantageousPossess a commercial mindset and use this when problem solving and taking on new challengesAbility to work independently and deliver work to tight timelinesDesire and ability to create and deliver changeAbility to work in a fast paced and dynamic environmentStrong communication skills (both verbal and written)Be willing to learn from and share knowledge with colleaguesPro-active and self-motivatedMust work well in a team and under pressureFlexible and adaptable to changing demands of businessDedication to review and improvement of existing processes
