_An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic experienced nurse to join our Oncology & Medical team as Ward Sister/Charge Nurse at The Wellington Hospital, London. _


The role is based in the 1- bed oncology and medical ward with an additional 2 bedded specialist treatment area for our Neuroendocrine patients.

There is a mixture of acutely unwell patients, chemotherapy patients and end of life patients.


We are passionate about constantly improving our service and delivering high quality care to our patients and strive to build upon the excellent care we provide.


We are looking for committed individuals with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, who have a genuine interest in working within the oncology or medical speciality to join our team.

We are dedicated to training and developing our staff in their chosen field.


The successful applicant will have at least 2 years experience in the oncology setting, including a good knowledge of caring for patients receiving chemotherapy and supportive therapies, expert cannulation and venepuncture skills, proven teaching, supervision and staff support skills, and the ability to communicate with all members of the multidisciplinary team.


As a Sister/Charge Nurse you will deliver a clinical environment that ensures our patients & visitors receive the highest standards of care; an environment that is conducive to learning, supporting and participating in the supervision/teaching or more junior or new staff, adhering to a level of service that conforms to our vision, aspiration and values at all times.

The Sister/ Charge Nurse will provide specialist nursing advice to support and facilitate high quality individualised care to patients/clients and relatives/carers, without supervision, in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team

You will contribute to the development of services and quality improvement initiatives within a collaborative framework to enhance patient experience.

In addition, you will have responsibility of a team to support with development and performance appraisal and deputise for Ward Manager.

**Skills & Experience
**- NMC Registered Nurse

  • Post registration qualification in Cancer/ Chemotherapy Nursing
  • Recognised teaching, assessing, mentoring qualification
  • Extensive experience within Cancer specialty Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Evidence of management experience / training
  • Skilled in Phlebotomy / Cannulation / Care of CVADs/ IV administration
