We are delighted to be able to offer an exciting fixed term/secondment opportunity for a friendly and enthusiastic Assistant Practitioner to join our dynamic Head and Neck Cancer Speech and Language Therapy team at the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM).


The Head and Neck Cancer team is comprised of a close MDT including ENT surgeons, Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons, Oncologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Dietitians, Radiologists, Restorative Dentists and Histopathologists.

Speech and Language Therapists are part of the core MDT, and have a vastly important role in the care of our patients.

At UHNM, we are honoured to be able to work with head and neck cancer patients across the entire cancer pathway.

We support them on their journeys from diagnosis, through to treatment / acute post-surgical inpatient stay, and onto their outpatient rehabilitation period, leading to support with survivorship and/or end of life care.

To fulfil administrative duties to the Head and Neck Cancer SLT team.


To deliver care to Head and Neck cancer patients by following agreed therapy plans in accordance to agreed guidelines, competencies, protocols and treatment regime.

Ability to work independently using own initiative, having awareness of limitations, as well as working as a team member.
