Job summary
The Children and Young Person unit within the Emergency Department at Yeovil District Hospital are looking for a motivated enthusiastic Band 5 / Band 6 nurse to join their busy CYP team. This is a friendly department with a positive team ethos and strong nursing leadership (part- time or full- time hours considered).
Applicants need to have a sound knowledge of clinical and leadership skills. Emergency clinical skills are required, ideally a children's nurse with acute experience or an emergency nurse with paediatric specific experience.
Be able to provide, demonstrate and maintain a high standard of professional nursing care to our young patients and their families.
Demonstrate the ability to lead as well as work within a team; to supervise, nurture, counsel and develop the knowledge and skills of other staff.
Provide immediate emergency care in a RESUS setting for paediatric patients.
Initiate and participate in developments within the unit adhering to all aspects of the Unit, Trust Policies and Procedures.

The post will involve shift work.
This role can either be a Band 5 or a Band 6 depending on experience. This will be discussed at interview.
