    Responsibilities

    A Principal Chemical and Process Engineer is a lead‐level professional role in the Chemical and
    Process discipline of the Engineering role family. This role draws upon specialised depth and breadth of expertise to undertake complex assignments, and provides technical leadership and direction to junior roles. They may also lead teams of professional associates within the
    discipline

    Chemical and Process is a role discipline which encompasses planning, designing, developing, implementing, and providing through life support to chemical/process systems and equipment, as well as prescribing testing, monitoring and providing resolutions to equipment related issues.

    Roles in this discipline will also use their skills and expertise to modify or develop systems or equipment to ensure they remain safe, fit‐for‐
    purpose and align with their design intent as well as relevant codes, standards and legislation.

    Working on systems on marine platforms, an ability to work within a multi-discipline team, and good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Provide leadership and accountability in the delivery of systemsChemical Process engineering activities through the application of process, domain knowledge and experience.
  • Work as a Process engineering subject matter expert. Demonstrably able to understand concepts and principles, to be able to design / develop / determine solutions to meet engineering requirements; and personally undertake the most complex work within the subject area.
  • Experience in leading Chemical Process to demonstrate the customer requirement has been met.
  • Provides help and direction to less experienced team members to support both their effective working, and their development. Providing coaching and assistance as needed.
  • Work closely with others in multi-disciplinary teams performing system definition activities.
  • Plan, deliver and monitor the systems engineering scope of work within a project.
  • Manage the technical interface with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage process engineering risks.
  • Qualifications

  • Ideally degree qualified but HND/HNC level qualification in an engineering discipline with extensive experience in relevant field will be considered;
  • Ideally be a member of a relevant institution, and hold Chartered status; or demonstration that this is achievable.

  • Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in order to take a broad perspective and solve complex problems, using analysis and judgement to identify innovative solutions. This will include interpreting internal and external business challenges and recommending best practices to improve products, processes or services. Will work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations and may lead functional teams or projects. Will need to understand the work of the department and will
    impact the achievement of customer, operational, project or service objectives. Will be required to communicate complex concepts,
    anticipate potential objective and influence others to adopt a different perspective.
