The School of Nursing and Advanced Practice has recently been restructured to enhance the focus on undergraduate and postgraduate nursing and advanced multidisciplinary practice.

Situated in the Faculty of Health, the School plays a key role in the development of the current and future health workforce.

The post graduate portfolio is significant and increasing each year with various local, regional, and national programmes. The School plays a pivotal role in the Advanced Practice agenda regionally.

The Faculty of Health strives to tackle health inequalities, social exclusion and deprivation in local communities and beyond, through our undergraduate and postgraduate curricula, along with a growing programme of international partnerships and student opportunities.

There is a developing culture of multidisciplinary research into post
- graduate education, simulation and advanced practice poised for additional growth and funding.


We are seeking to appoint a Subject Head in Post Graduate Nursing and Advanced Practice to provide leadership of the Post Graduate and continuing professional development programmes with line management of academic staff engaged in teaching, research and enterprise.

You will be responsible for the academic development and delivery of high-quality taught programmes in Post Graduate Nursing, including Post registration programmes and Advanced Practice.


You will be able to demonstrate academic leadership of nurse education and curriculum developments with the ability to respond to workforce challenges, the external environment and policy in this area.

You will have a strong profile in education, research and innovation whilst ensuring the student experience is central. Applicants must hold a postgraduate degree in Nursing and a PhD (or be actively working towards this).

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance will be required for this post at the appropriate level and Occupational Health clearance is required for the posts regulated by the NMC (to be undertaken upon appointment).
