Lecturer in Practice Learning - Liverpool, United Kingdom - Liverpool John Moores University

    Default job background
    Full time, Permanent
    Description

Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a distinctive, unique institution, rooted in the Liverpool City Region and with a global presence. Our students and staff, past, present, and future, are the beating heart of our city and can be found in every corner of every industry and community. We couldn't exist anywhere else and have shaped the city in which we belong. Working with the people of Liverpool to improve lives and support communities is at the heart of why we were founded and why we exist today.

The School of Nursing and Advanced Practice has been committed to advancing developments in health and social care for over 25 years, tracing our origins back to 1991 when the Liverpool School of Nursing and Midwifery joined with Liverpool Polytechnic. Today, we continue to strive to tackle health inequalities and social exclusion and deprivation in local communities and beyond, through our undergraduate and postgraduate curricula, along with a growing programme of international partnerships.

Due to the unprecedented success of the School, we are seeking to appoint Lecturers in Practice Learning for our nursing and nursing associate programmes to deliver a high-quality student support in their practice placements, a range of teaching materials and associated student assessment activities. These roles will contribute to the development of modules and programmes, and curriculum changes. You will work with our placement providers to ensure our students get the best experience from this important part of their nursing programme. You will also be able to engage in one of the Faculty's research themes, and be part of our continued development.

You must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, educated to Masters Level (or currently studying) and have experience within a relevant field of nursing including experience of supporting nursing students. We are seeking enthusiastic, committed individuals dedicated to providing an outstanding student experience who can demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and are driven to improve the lives of patients, their carers, and their families. This is your opportunity to be a key contributor to providing a high-quality and transformative educational experience for students.

We believe that LJMU is an environment that will enable your successes to be recognised, celebrated and rewarded. You will join a team of staff with significant real-world experience and expertise from a range of disciplines which means, we are able to support your endeavours and provide mentorship as you grow in your role. If you are student-focused, enthusiastic and motivated, then LJMU is an excellent place to work. You will receive a competitive salary, with high quality pension provision, excellent holidays alongside a wide range of staff social and well-being benefits.

At LJMU, we value the benefits a rich, diverse workforce brings to our community and therefore welcome applications from all sections of society. We wish you every success in your application to become part of LJMU's successful and welcoming team of staff.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance will be required for this post at the appropriate level and Occupational Health clearance is required for the posts regulated by the NMC (to be undertaken upon appointment).

LJMU values diversity and provides a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can fulfil their potential.

Please note: Our vacancies will be closed to applications at midnight on the advertised closing date, unless otherwise stated.

    £37,100 to £44,263 per annum.
