Job summary
Alma Medical Centre is a GP Practice in central Stockton. We provide primary care services to our patient population.
Working under the direct supervision of the Advanced Nurse Practitioner and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
Main duties of the job
To work closely with the Clinicians, Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Nursing team. Once competencies completed and signed off in each area you will be delivering:
New patient health checks
Hypertension monitoring BP
24 hour BP
ECG recording
Chaperoning
Phlebotomy
B12
Seasonal vaccines
Dressings removal of sutures and clips
Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses

About us
We are a friendly supportive GP Practice in Stockton on Tees with over 11,000 patients. We are a training practice with a multidisciplinary team, including 4 GP partners, 3 salaried GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, HCA and Social Prescriber. We have practice and pharmacy administrators and receptionists.
We have good facilities and are located in a purpose-built facility, with staff parking. We are within walking distance to Stockton shopping centre.

This post is one of continual development. Your Senior Nurse will work with you through core competencies. You will be expected to complete statutory and mandatory training as well attending clinical courses as required for the post.
