One-to-One Teaching Assistant - Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) - Behavioural Support

Contract Type: Fixed-Term until July 2024

Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Experience: Previous experience working with children who require additional support and have SEN is essential.


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis with a child in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) who has behavioural difficulties.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a compassionate and patient individual to provide tailored support and assistance.


Responsibilities:

Individualised Support: Work closely with the child on a one-to-one basis, providing personalised support to address behavioural difficulties and enhance their overall learning experience.

Collaboration with Teachers: Collaborate with classroom teachers and other professionals to develop and implement strategies that promote positive behaviour and academic progress.

Observation and Documentation: Monitor and record the child's behaviour, progress, and any incidents, maintaining accurate records to inform ongoing strategies and interventions.

Communication: Regularly communicate with parents/guardians, keeping them informed about the child's progress, challenges, and successes. Foster a positive and collaborative relationship between home and school.

Adaptation of Materials: Modify and adapt learning materials to meet the child's specific needs, ensuring a differentiated approach to support their learning journey.

Promote Inclusively: Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages the child's social and emotional development, building on their strengths.


Qualifications and Requirements:

Experience: Proven experience working with children in an educational or similar setting, preferably with experience in supporting those with behavioural difficulties and Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Qualifications: Minimum of a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent. Additional training in behaviour management and SEN is desirable.

Patience and Empathy: Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.

Adaptability: Ability to adapt to the individual needs of the child and modify strategies accordingly.

Safeguarding: Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
