Description
The Patient Safety Advisor role is to support and promote patient safety across the Trust. This post will specialise in Falls Prevention across the Trust.

This role is 22.5 hours per week.


The post holder is expected to have close professional relationships with all clinical services to support the recognition and understanding of patient safety frameworks.

The role will draw on existing models for improvement and assurance; and through working across the Nursing, Therapies and Quality directorate support innovation for sustainable and effective change.


Employment in this post requires an Enhanced and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.

Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

Attend and present at The Trust Falls Steering Group.

Review Policy relating to falls.

Deliver Falls training.

Contribute to the formulation and maintenance of Trust frameworks to support assurance in the delivery of clinically safe services.

Support Trust directorate leads in the promotion and understanding of the relevance of national safety standards to clinical practice.


Work in collaboration with all teams in the Nursing, Therapies and Quality Directorate to support assurance in the delivery of safe, quality care and provide specialist support where identified.

Support the Trust Patient Safety Specialist in the delivery of the NHS National Patient Safety Strategy.
