Payroll Officer


Based in Watford, Hertfordshire our successful client is seeking a Payroll Officer to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

This job would suit someone with several years' experience and able to deal with large volumes of employees.

You will have a keen eye for upholding compliance and making sure payroll completion is always on time whilst building a strong and trusting relationshipswith key internal members.


The successful individual will be an excellent communicator and can build good relationships but also challenge where necessary to provide insight and business partnering to deliver operational efficiencies in payroll.

A good understanding of UK Tax, NICand Pension Auto-Enrolment is vital. Excellent Excel Skills (Vlookups, Pivot Tables) is essential for this role.


Job responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparation and review monthly payroll cycles
  • Journals and balancing control accounts
  • Payroll reconciliations including Apprenticeship Levy and Pension.
  • Be the first point of contact within the Payroll Team for any queries
  • Raising BACs payments where required.
  • Improvement of Payroll function.
  • Provide support with project activity as required.
