Tax Manager

Hybrid working 2 days in the office / 3 from home
Working at Section Manager level, you'll have experience of both Corp Tax and VAT, combined with CTA qualification.

You'll be taking the lead on all matters involving taxation for 2 established companies, and 2 more recently acquired businesses within thegroup, ensuring compliance with HMRC and parent company requirements at all times.

Key responsibilities will include setting out annual tax activities, agreeing strategy, deadlines and deliverables with stakeholders. Implementing projects, provision of specialised advice, and managing a small team / relationship with tax advisors.


Corporation Tax and statutory reporting:

  • Management of all aspects of IFRS Tax Accounting covering Current & Deferred Corporation Tax
  • Preparation of Corporation Tax for halfyearly/yearly reporting to East Asia parent
  • Preparation of the Company & Group IFRS Corporation Tax provisioning
  • Preparation of Tax notes for yearend reporting of Financial Statements.
  • Review of the foreign subsidiary IFRS tax notes / liaison with foreign subsidiary Finance Managers
  • Manage year end audit from a tax perspective
  • Preparation and submission of yearly Corporation Tax Return to HMRC
  • Preparation of the Corporate Interest Restriction return for the UK Group.
  • Manage timely completion of capital allowance calculations
  • Management of the Group Relief across UK entities

VAT:

  • Production and review of quarterly VAT Returns to ensure VAT compliance
  • Management of the partial exemption method [PESM]
  • Including agreeing PESM, reviewing case law, managing external advisors in relation to PESM
  • Preparing and managing submission of Bad debt (GMAC) and Regulation 38 VAT relief claims

Business Support:

  • Providing tax guidance to the business and Senior leadership in relation to UK's operations
  • Ensuring tax risks and opportunities are understood and manage appropriately
  • Advising on adhoc requests as they arise in relation to Taxation and Financial matters
  • Liaising & engaging and managing external advisors as required and within powers of decisions

Compliance:

  • Ensure tax affairs are compliant. Horizon scanning & advising & implementing new processes as required
  • Coordinate and manage the transfer pricing position and documentation
  • Management & preparation of PAYE Settlement Agreement & Incentive Scheme Reporting
  • Maintain the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) Compliance process
  • Ensure tax procedures are maintained
  • Work with Legal & Compliance team in areas relating to taxation

Other:

  • Advising on adhoc requests as they arise in relation to Taxation and Financial matters
and liaising with external advisors where necessary.

  • Any other appropriate duties as required by line manager.
