Role


The DCC Testing Services function under Operations area is responsible for overseeing, support and coordination of the testing undertaken by Test Participants as they seek to integrate their devices and systems with the central DCC systems.


Take ownership of all activities that support Testing Participants to become a DCC User and support them with onboarding, guidance, and ongoing testing in the UIT environment.

Responsible for supporting Test Participants through their testing of DCC platform. Understanding their priorities, resolving issues/challenges, and liaising with other external and internal Stakeholders in support of actions required.


Assure and review Test Artefacts, Test Evidence, Test Completion reports provided by Testing Participants and support them through the various Test services (Such as SMKI & Repository Entry Process Testing, User Entry Process Testing and Device and System User Testing).


Work with the Service Providers to ensure that Testing Participants can test the interaction of their meters and back-office systems against the DCC systems and support Test Participants in their remote test labs (RTL) and DCC Lab.

What will you be doing?

  • Act as primary contact for the assigned Industry Test Participants during their testing: scheduling test support activities; reviewing test artefacts; provide testing guidance on OFGEM and DCC requirements, reporting progress; resolving queries, and supporting the timely resolution of test issues.
  • Liaising with Service providers in support of testing activities performed by Testing Participants (Environmental set up, onboarding, configurations, Entry and Exit criteria, Data provisions).
  • Act as primary contact for driving testing progress and issue resolution for assigned Test Participants undertaking testing in DCC Lab or their own Remote Test Lab.
  • Delivery of analytical information and reports to ensure regulatory obligation (to support KPI's) is being met by DCC and in support of any decisions made for DCC new services or releases to be deployed in UIT. Collate and produce information on the progress and test issues encountered by Test Participants (on a regular and ad hoc basis).
  • Conduct meetings with Test Participants
  • Outline DCC & SEC requirements:
  • Explain test responsibilities and obligations; and
  • Address any associated questions.
  • Conduct Entry and Exit gate meetings to ensure Test Participants satisfy the requirements to become a DCC User.
  • Create new Customer Journeys and review existing ones. Identify Customer pain points and suggest ways to improve Customer experience.
  • Driving the resolution of issues that arise during BAU testing in UIT.
  • Support Continuous Improvement Activities, bringing new initiatives into the team.
  • Ensure DCC Testing Services is compliant against Governance and User Test Approach Documents when supporting Test Participants.
  • Supporting DCC Testing Services Delivery Team in implementing new services and support of new DCC releases.
  • Occasional travel to Test Participants, Service Providers, and other DCC sites will be required for meetings.
What are we looking for?

  • Strong stakeholder management and hands on in driving and resolving issues related to customers.
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of test artefacts, test execution, test reporting and test issue resolution.
  • Have awareness of Quality Assurance methodology.
  • Strong communications skills written & verbal with an ability to explain complex technical requirements.
  • Approachable, with strong interpersonal skills, and a desire to deliver a good customer service experienced and capable in addressing business through telephone conference calls.
  • Ability to manage several Customer requests at once and to prioritise requests for support.
  • A skilled user of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of the GB smart metering solution and user landscape would be advantageous.
  • Experience of working with and supporting a diverse and demanding group of internal and external customers.
  • Recognising the varied nature and loading of the work, the individual should be comfortable working within a challenging, dynamic and technology driven environment.
  • Ability to identify and propose process improvements and find alternative solutions to issues faced by the testing team.
  • Knowledge and experience in UAT testing and testing tools.
