Senior Engineer, Product Design Engineering - Coventry, United Kingdom - Unipart Rail

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our small Engineering team. You will be based at our site in Coventry working, reporting to the Design Engineering Manager.

There is the opportunity to work a hybrid work pattern and some site work will be required to assist with installation, SAT tests and variations.

In this role you will lead on designing control panels and Samuel James Engineering products for the rail industry.

To design and produce electrical control and distribution panels through to commissioning.
Provide technical support for operational employees and external customers
Project Management of each job - design, technical, purchasing, quality, after care support and testing
Apply knowledge, skill and experience to design and implementation of new innovative solutions
Carry out contract reviews as per the requirements of the quality procedure
Ensure all activities undertaken are fully compliant with quality management system and in accordance with health and safety requirements
Qualified to degree level in Electrical design - (or equivalent experience)
Creation of electrical schematics via Engineering design system (AutoCad LT)
Experience of electrical component integration
Excellent commercial knowledge and application
Experience in product design lifecycle - from concept to introduction into manufacturing (ideally in safety critical industry)
Passion for producing innovative design solutions
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Experience / knowledge of rail industry
