I am seeking a Qualified Management Accountant to team a growing SME business based in Cardiff.

My client is seeking an enthusiastic and technically capable Accountant to join the Finance Team, someone who will oversee the accurate and timely productionof the management accounts as well as providing robust analysis reporting.


Main duties of the role will include Meeting month end deadlines to allow timely review of the month end results by the Controller.


  • Working with the business to deliver the budget
  • Working with auditors for yearend statutory accounts, being lead contact for any Project related queries
  • Provide support to Finance Assistants with technical accounting matters as required
  • Reporting on key P&L and balance sheet variances at month end
  • Provide Support to Controller on an adhoc basis
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manages the Fixed Asset register
  • Administer a small Payroll process
  • Accruals and prepayment
  • Cash flow
  • Reconcile the Bank account and highlight/investigate any discrepancies.
  • Reconcile the credit card transactions
  • Prepare daily/weekly payment runs
Qualifications and experience required - The role is centred around production of accurate management accounts and the management pack.

The role also requires the individual to aid in the overall finance activities within the team and be hands on with the delivery of the teams' goals.


  • Qualified accountant working towards a professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Prior experience in a similar management accountant/project accountant/business partner role.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Proactive selfstarter with the ability to time manage and work on own initiative.
  • An ability to manage and prioritise your own workload).
  • Able to work in a fastpaced environment and embraces change.
  • Competence using cloudbased systems or a willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of Excel to an intermediate/advanced standard (e.g. Pivot Tables. VLOOKUP's etc).


My client will pay a salary of up to £50,000 per annum for the successful applicant, as well as a bonus of 10% on a yearly basis.


  • Hours of work are Monday to Thursday, pm with a 4pm finish on a Friday
  • Flexible working hours to include WFH for 2 days per week
  • Private medical is on offer
  • 25 days holiday plus 8 days Bank Hols
