    About the role:

    As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist you will be responsible for leading projects to minimize our environmental impact and driving our commitment to become Net Zero by 2030. If you get excited about diving into the details of our energy consumption, optimizing facilities, enhancing operational efficiencies and refining procurement processes then this is the role for you.

    Besides working with our team of sustainability experts you will also work with cross-functional teams, such as the Facilities, Procurement, and Operations teams. This position offers a unique opportunity to make an impact by championing sustainability initiatives and contributing to our collective journey towards a more sustainable future.

    These are some of the key ingredients to the role:

    • Spearheaded the development and execution of our Net Zero transition plan, with a targeted goal of achieving Net Zero status by 2030 for our direct operations.
    • Oversee and track the ongoing progress against intermediate targets of the transition plan by working cross-functionally with stakeholders of varying levels of seniority across Facilities, Operations, and Procurement teams.
    • Prepare regular reports on performance, detailing progress toward goals, key metrics, and areas for improvement. Maintain accurate documentation of sustainability initiatives and outcomes.
    • Keep abreast and support the latest developments and processes in our wider sustainability & ESG reporting, supporting our carbon footprint assessment, and supporting data gathering for other upcoming reporting requirements such as Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
    • Support with other initiatives to reduce the environmental impact beyond our direct operations such as packaging and delivery. Proactively explore opportunities in this rapidly evolving area and stay attuned to industry trends and advancements that can optimize our sustainability initiatives.
    • Be an advocate of building a responsible business by actively engaging stakeholders such as consumers, partners, couriers and employees. Take on the role of educator, sharing insights and knowledge among colleagues to enhance understanding and commitment to our sustainability initiatives.

    What will you bring to the table?

    • Passionate about building a responsible business with a technical understanding of sustainability topics
    • Proven experience in environmental sustainability, preferably in a large, ideally global, organization (Minimum 2 years)
    • Knowledge of environmental impact assessments and carbon footprint measurement.
    • Strong analytical skills to assess data related to energy usage, waste management, and other environmental metrics.
    • Proficiency in preparing clear and comprehensive reports on sustainability performance.
    • Proven ability to lead and manage sustainability projects from initiation to completion.
    • Strong organizational skills to coordinate and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Ability to adapt to a fast-changing market and evolving sustainability practices.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with a range of stakeholders
    • Leadership experience, comfortable working with a variety of employee levels including senior stakeholders
    • Fluent spoken and written English
    • Ability to lead and inspire others toward sustainability goals.
