An exciting opportunity for a SOC Engineer to join a rapidly growing fully remote team within a leading global insurance business.
The SOC Engineer will have a solid background working within a busy IT team; experience in designing and implementing technical solutions around security, supporting all aspect of the Security mainframe, SOC, monitoring tools and future developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining and improving the security posture of the environments
- Provide technical expertise as a Security Engineer; participate in the formulation of security engineering best practices; assess security configurations; and documentation of security processes and procedures.
- Working closely with the Security team and CISO, identify and help address Cyber-Security issues across environments as well as participate with customer security group in supporting new cyber security technologies.
- Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security measures for the protections of the information systems and networks.
- Formulate systems and methodologies as well as respond to security related events and assist in remediation efforts
- Ensure the clients' data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls.
- Participate in the change management process
- Test and identify network and system vulnerabilities
- Assist in engineering a secure cloud environment baseline.
- Demonstrate ownership of vulnerability management, patching policies and securing our infrastructure.
- Participate and drive security incident response processes.
- Assess the security of cloudnative environments using threat modelling or similar processes.
- Interact with vendors, researchers, and other 3rd parties to collaborate on security issues or processes.
Key Skills / Experience
- Familiar with Network & Systems performance monitoring such as Solarwinds Orion.
- Passionate about delivering excellence.
- Selfstarting and able to selfmanage.
- Deployment and management of an enterprise patching process.
- Scripting knowledge including PowerShell.
- Experience migrating and deploying cloudbased solutions (AzureCloud preferred).
