    Band 5 Staff Nurses make a difference every day to the lives of the people they work with.


    This is a new and exciting role where you will play an integral part in ensuring that every child gets the best start in life, through delivering health promotion and core services to children 0-5 and their families as part of the Healthy Child Programme.

    You will require excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work in partnership with other teams and agencies, good communication skills and a passion for improving outcomes for children and families.

    You will be part of the health visiting skill mix team which is led and supported by Health Visitors.
    Support the health visiting team to meet the healthcare needs of under 5s and their families.

    Deliver evidence- based interventions to families which may include supporting the transition to parenthood, supporting maternal and family mental health, supporting breastfeeding, supporting healthy weight, healthy nutrition, improving health literacy, reducing accidents and minor illnesses.

    Support the Health Visitors with protecting children and supporting families who require safeguarding or children who are Children in Care.

    Be professionally accountable for the delivery of care.

    Attend regular supervision sessions, to ensure you feel supported and are able to share experiences to learn from peers and develop your own skills and knowledge.

    The service aims to provide an excellent standard of care that supports families.

    You must be a Registered Nurse active on the NMC Register.
    You must hold a valid UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle.
    A willingness to learn, take on additional training and travel across localities.
    Leadership Skills are also important, as with all nursing roles, communication skills,problem solving and good judgement are crucial.
